Cooking for a family is pretty easy. All you really need is a simple yet delicious recipe. I personally find Chicken Pot Pie to be one of the easiest to cook for my whole family. Ingredients:- 1 cup potato, diced
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup carrot, diced (you may add any other vegetables to your liking)
- 1/3 cup melted margarine
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- salt and pepper
- chicken, cooked and chopped
- 2 pie crusts (you may buy this from the store)
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Saute onion, celery, carrots and potatoes in margarine for 10 minutes in a hot pan.
- Add flour to sauteed mixture and stir constantly for about a minute.
- Add the chicken broth.
- Gradually stir into vegetable mixture.
- Continue to cook with medium heat and continue to stir to avoid the dish being burned.
- Add seasoning and chicken.
- Pour the whole thing in a casserole dish and top with pie shells.
- Cut slits to allow steam to escape.
- Then bake for about 40-50 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly and cooked.
